Grouphug Mantrain
Grouphug Mantrain is an irc game played with the gnaddy bot. The game was conceived late at night by Sketchcow, although Tpublic claims prior art and the two parties have been locked in sweaty, gladiator-like battle ever since.

The Rules
- The player starts by getting a random grouphug.
- The player selects the best phrase out of that grouphug to search for another grouphug. The phrase must be at least three words long.
- The selected phrase must match the confession exactly. No corrections of spelling or grammar are allowed.
- If the resulting grouphug is too long to be displayed in irc the player may visit the web page to select from the entire confession.
- The player's turn continues until the same grouphug comes up twice in a row.
- If the selected phrase doesn't return any results the player receives a strike. Three strikes in a turn and the turn is over.
- There is a five minute timeout for any player. Both to begin the turn, or in the middle of a turn.
- The players will agree to how many rounds before the beginning of a game.
Scoring
- A player gets a point or "Mantrain" for every grouphug displayed until the duplicate comes up. Since the first grouphug is counted, a score of zero is not possible.
- Rounds can be scored one of two ways. A standard game the highest score from any single round is the winner. You can also "Ride the Cockhorse." When you ride the cockhorse, the score of each round is added. This rewards those who get on a nice steady rhythm.
- Players may agree to a point scale for the number of words in a search phrase. Suggested scale is 5 words or less = 1 point if no duplicate is returned. 6 words or more = 2 points if no duplicate is returned.

Speed Grouphug Mantrain
To play Speed Mantrain simply change two rules. A player only gets one strike and you can't go to the web page for additional phrases.
Hot Potato Grouphug Mantrain
Hot Potato Mantrain is a last man standing community train. Players agree to a number of points before a player is kicked out of the game. A designated player starts with a random grouphug. The next person then chooses a minimum 3 words and searches grouphug from that person's result. The next player then takes their turn, etc. The player to hit the first repeat in a single round is charged a point. If the player has a point total equal to the amount of points required to be kicked, the player is eliminated. The last player standing(?) wins.
Search Tips
As part of the interface to the database, double quotes must surround multiple words. A search term containing only words that are too common or less than four letters will not bring any results by themselves, however these common words will fine tune the results if a less common word is included.
- "go out on my own" will never return a match
- "because I am too" does not return a match, but "because I am too scared" does
A Final Note
Remember, comments from the peanut gallery are always encouraged. Be sure to taunt others while you're ahead.
Select entertaining phrases. If you just select the most common phrase you can find you're a douche bag. We'll tell Conrad that you fancy a jolly rogering.
You get style points for selecting dangerous phrases that will have a low number of matches in the database. Just remember, if you don't collect style points you'll never be able to convince the strippers that you really are Lizzie.
