Ron Paul is a republican senator from Tex-ass, altough he's really a Libertarian. He's gained a lot of currency recently among reddit users because he's realized he's pretty much unelectable and instead of carrying on his party's idiotic talking points, actually says what 99% of Americans are thinking.
Most of his opinions are pretty likeable; he's anti-iraq war, anti-patriot act, anti-city funded snowplows, pro-guns, pro-privacy, anti-government spending, anti-food safety inspection, anti-tax and with Dennis Kucinich, is one of two congressdudes to vote against the Iraq war.
